The Great Colorado Route is honored to partner with:
Katabatic Gear, based out of Salida, CO, specializes in ultralight backpacking gear. They are most known for their ultralight quilts but also make exceptional bivies, hoods, and jackets. We are excited to use and showcase their Palisade Quilt and Wren Bivy during Iceman’s 2026 thru hike of the GCR.
The Northern Colorado Trail (NOCO) is Northern Colorado’s premier long-distance hiking trail from Estes Park to Glenwood Springs. The GCR follows their route for this part of the state and is greatly indebted to their founder, Kevin “Sunshine” Silvernale, for his advice when designing our route and website.
